Everything for a wet, muddy dog

The thirty seconds everyone dreads

One damp towel isn't a plan

Every winter it's the same. A good walk, a soaked dog, and the sinking realisation that the only towel in the boot is the one that's been in there since October.

Then it's mud on the seats, wet dog on the carpet, and that smell in the car until spring.

Rainhound exists to end that thirty seconds. Robe on before they get in. The seats stay dry.

The old way, and the better one

The old towel in the boot

  • Soaks through onto the seat
  • Holds the wet and starts to smell
  • Takes all day to dry
  • Two minutes of wrestling a wet dog in the rain

A Rainhound drying robe

  • Waterproof backing keeps the seat dry
  • Traps their body heat, so they warm up faster
  • Slips over the head — no buckles or straps
  • Machine washable at 30°C, ready for the next walk
  • Rolls up small enough to live in the boot

Why a robe, not a towel

A towel gets them damp. This keeps them warm.

A towel pushes water around and leaves your dog cold and damp on the drive home. The robe covers the back, chest, belly and upper legs, and its reflective inner layer returns their own body heat — no power, batteries or heating element.

The waterproof backing keeps car seats and floors dry until you're home and can dry them properly.

How it works

1

Straight after the walk

Slip it over the head. No buckles, no straps, no fighting a wet dog in the rain.

2

Into the car, warm and tidy

The wrap traps their own body heat while they settle in the boot, and the waterproof backing keeps the seat dry.

3

Home, hang it up

Take it off at home. When it needs it, machine wash at 30°C and hang to dry — then roll it up for the boot.

Questions people ask

My dog soaks the car seats after every walk. Will this help?

Yes. The waterproof backing keeps moisture off car seats and floors, while the wrap traps your dog's own body heat so they warm up and dry faster than being left wet in a towel.

My dog hates having things put on him.

It slips over the head with no buckles, clips or straps — just a simple pull-over fit they can wear on the drive home.
